"The square panel is divided on two horizontal strips - blue and red. On the top strip is yellow eight-beam star, on the bottom strip is white cross which touches top strip and edges by beams."

The City

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"The first mentions refer to 1450. One of legends tells that the local monastery has been based by monks of Kyiv Laurels when they ran here in 1240 after destruction of Kyiv by Tatars, also that its name occurs from inflow of Dnipro - Pochaina. In XVI century in written books already mentioned orthodox monastery.
On June, 9th, 1778, Stanislav-August granted the city rights and the arms.
