Kianja Kingdom flag

The Kianja Kingdom is in the Kagera Region (south-west of Lake Victoria) of Tanzania and was formally abolished by the Tanganyika Government in 1962.

I found a colour photo of two Royal chairs or "thrones" (one being for His Highness The Omukama (King) of Kianja, the other for Her Highness The Omugo  (Queen) of Kianja.

The one for the Omukama has a red backing with the full Coat of Arms of the Kingdom, two elephant tusks in crossed in the base, with a "ribbon" at the top; in the centre is a walking lion - facing sinister. The other chair has the lion only on the red cloth.

It is presumed that the flag of the Kingdom would then be red with a white lion (walking away from the hoist).
