Pusztina (in Romanian) Pustiana is one of the largest Csángó-Hungarian
settlements in the Romanian Moldova, in Bákó (in Romanian Bacău)county, part of
Pârjol community. The Csángó-Hungarians are an endangered people. The flag is
used in festivals symbolised their Hungarian nationality and Roman Catholic
religion.
The inscription: 'Szent István Gyermekei Pusztina - Pustiana' means 'The
Children of Saint Stephen Pusztina - Pustiana'
The original church saint of the RC church of Pusztina /King Saint Stephen/ was
changed to another Saint Stephen by the Episcopacy of Iasi in the 1980s.
