Christi; abbreviated LC; also Legion of Christ) is a Roman Catholic clerical
religious order made up of priests and candidates for the priesthood established
by Marcial Maciel in Mexico on January 3, 1941.
The Congregation of the
Legionaries of Christ is a Roman Catholic clerical religious congregation of
Pontifical Right for men that forms part of the Regnum Christi Federation
(official website:
http://www.regnumchristi.org), founded by Maciel in 1959, which includes the
Legionaries of Christ, the Society of Apostolic Life of the Consecrated Women of
Regnum Christi (official website:
https://consecratedwomen.org), the Society of Apostolic Life of the Lay
Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi (official website:
https://rclayconsecratedmen.org),
and other Catholics who associate individually. Its members add the nominal

The flag is a horizontal background featuring a crimson (left) and white
background (right), equally and vertically divided fields, with the logo in the
middle, bearing the cross, the sacred heart and the initials R A T, most likely
standing for Ratio Institutionis (English: System Formation), which is the set
of rules for this congregation.
