Sendim e Atenor was established, when the village of Sendim and the small village of Atenor merged in 2013. The names in brackets are Mirandese, the local language.

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

The arms are Argent three roof tiles Gules set in fess, in chief two olive branches Vert fruited Sable and tied Gules per saltire, in base a postal horn Vert cordoned Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ATENOR".
Inspite of Mirandese having "official language" status in Portugal, the scroll doesn't include the local toponym "Atanor" (just like in all other CoAs of Mirandese-speaking communes and municipalities).

Meaning:
If we may connect the roof tiles and the word "athanor", which is an alchemist's furnace, the arms might be canting.

Presentation of Atenor

Atenor / Atanor Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Miranda do Douro / Miranda de l Douro Municipality (q.v.); it had 172 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 23,11 km².

Sendim / Sendin was one of the pre-2013 communes of Mianda do Douro Municipality. It had 1367 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 38,52 km².
