Shield Argent with base wavy of Argent and Azure, issuant from base a mountain Vert with two peaks and , in front of the mountain, a 2-arched bridge Argent masoned Sable, in chief a heraldic rose Gules seeded Or and barbed Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "VILELA - ARCOS DE VALDEVEZ".
Meaning:
The base wavy is representing Vez River, the name giver of the municipality.

Shield Vert, an embattled tower Argent masoned Sable with port and windows Gules, surrounded by two rounded palm leaves. In chief a bar wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "SÃO COSME E SÃO DAMIÃO".
Meaning:
The palm leaves probably are representing the name givers and patron saints of the commune. The bar wavy is representing Vez River, the name giver of the municipality.

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "SÁ - ARCOS DE VALDEVEZ".
Meaning:
The keys usually are attributes of St. Peter and the geese of St. Martin. But I don't know, whether one of them is the local patron saint.
