First mentioned in 1191
During WWII in the village of Siadło Dolne a POW camp for Soviet, Polish
and French prisoners was maintained.
The commune has three border crossings to Germany. It has basically
the agricultural character - 67% of land under cultivation, but is also
becoming a suburb of Szczecin with many residents working in the big city.
Arms and flag adopted on May 19, 2000 (resolution # XIII/4/2000).
"Arms: a shield divided vertically into two equal parts.On the right,
white field a red Pomeranian griffin, standing to the right.
On the left, blue field an even-armed silver (white) cross.
Flag: rectangle in the ratio of 5:8 composed of three unequal color
bands: (from the hoist):
* red - 1/4 of the width of the flag
* white - 1/2 of the width of the flag
* blue - 1/4 of the width of the flag
The ceremonial flag has the Arms positioned in the center of the white
band."
