Arms adopted in late 1990s
New flag adopted on March 28, 2003 (resolution # VI/36/03)
"Arms: an image of the white swan placed on the upper part of the red
shield.
Bottom part is occupied by two golden wheatfields (interrupted) and
between them an elaborate exlibris in the shape of the letter "W".
Flag: rectangular piece of cloth composed of uneven horizontal bands:
* white - 3/6
* green - 1/6
* red - 1/6
* blue - 1/6 of the width of the flag."
Chrystian Kretowicz, 10 Nov 2008
Waśniów commune has a flag, you can find it on this
site.
Description of the flag: Three parallel horizontal bends. Top one is
white (1/2 of the flag width), middle black, bottom red (both 1/4 of the
flag width).
Meaning: The colours are derived from the coat of arms of the commune.
White (silver) stands for the swan, red for the red field the swan is on.
Some old variants of the coat of arms had a black swan. This may be the
reason why the middle bend is black.
Waśniów commune is in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski county in Wojewodztwo
Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross Mountains Voivodship) in central Poland. The
capital of that voivodship is the city of Kielce.
