Arms adopted on June 19, 1998 (resolution # XL/279/98).
Flag adopted on April 28, 1999 (resolution # VII/61/99).
"Arms: Spanish-style shield of three parts: upper field blue with a
half-eagle of the Silesian Piasts in gold.
Second, lower right field shows a wheat stalk, hammer and pick - all
in gold on white.
Third, lower left field has a golden dog on green.
The dog recalls a long tradition of breeding hunting dogs.
The name of the village and commune is derived from the word "pies"=dog.
Flag: rectangular piece of cloth in the dimensions: 100 cm by 160 cm.
In the upper part - wedge in yellow color; the middle wedge is white
with the Coat of Arms in full graphics; the lower wedge is blue."
