Pelplin - urban-rural commune, Tczew County, Pomorskie Voivodship - German
name: Pelplin.
Gmina Pelplin is an urban-rural gmina (commune) in Tczew County, Pomeranian
Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of Pelplin, which
lies approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Tczew and 50 km (31 mi)
south of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Area: 140.45 sq.km (54.2 sq.mi); Population: 16,547 (2006).
Town of Pelplin has the population of 9,993 (2007); Pelplin monastery
is the seat of Roman Catholic Diocese of Pelplin.
Arms and flag adopted on March 28, 2003; (resolution # VI/59/03).
"Arms: on the blue shield a silver infula (bishop's mitre) gold embroidered.
Flag: white rectangle with the Arms in the middle."
