Załuski rural district

Załuski - rural commune, Płońsk County, Mazowieckie Voivodship.
Gmina Załuski is a rural commune in Płońsk County, Masovian Voivodship, in east-central Poland. Its seat is the village of Załuski, which lies approximately
17 kilometres (11 mi) south-east of Płońsk and 46 km (29 mi) north-west of Warsaw.
Area: 111.65 sq.km (43.1 sq.mi); Population: 5,431 (2006); An agricultural commune; Land under cultivation - 81%; forests - 8%.

Settlement dates back to the end of 15th century. Heavily affected by wars - Swedish Deluge, Napoleon's drive on Moscow, Russians crashing national uprisings of 1831 and 1863, both World Wars and the war with the bolsheviks of 1920. - Scarcely time for a nice cup of tea.
The proximity of the fortress at Modlin was, to the large extend, the cause of those wartime sufferings.

The biggest treasure of Zaluski commune is the silver chalice donated in 1492 to the parish of Kamienica. The chalice bears the the Coat of Arms "Gozdawa" (double lily) of the founder of the settlements, Jan Zaluski.
On February 23, 2009, the Commune's Council, during its XXI session, adopted the element of the Zaluski Family Coat of Arms, featured on the chalice, as the commune's Arms.
The flag is a green rectangle with the silver "gozdawa" on the red shield in its center.
The proof sheet attached to the resolution provides two versions of the flag in different ratios.
The Arms and flag have yet to be approved by the Heraldic Commission in Warsaw.
