Blazon: I rødt tre gull kløverbladkors, to over ett. In English: Guels three
crosses bottony or.
Approved by the royal resolution of 18 June 1982 after a drawing by Bjørn
Linnestad. [c2j87]
The three crosses symbolise the three parishes in the municipality: Vestby,
Garder and Såner. (When the arms were adopted, that is. Today there are four -
Hvitsten was established in 1998.

They also represent the three natural harbours in the area: Emmestad, Kjøvangen
and Sonskilen. The bottony crosses are reminiscent to the design in the arms of
the Norwegian Church.
It may be interesting to note that
flagging
regulations in Vestby allows use of municipal flag on administrative
building in any time - even out of the flagging hours established for the
national flag.
