De Nederlandsche Stoomboor Maatschappij (Netherlands Steamboat Co) was the
first steamboat co in the Netherlands. It was established with the help of King
William I in 1822. In 1823 the first Dutch steam vessel was launched: a ferry on
Hollands Diep named Wilhelmina, developed by G.M. Roentgen, the steam engine
built in England. The company not only was involved in shipping but started to
build vessels as well on its own shipyard. Services. First services were
Rotterdam-Antwerp (1823-1847) en Rotterdam to Mannheim (until 1955). In 1886 the
name of the company was changed in Nederlandsche Stoomboot Reederij. The
original company had a wide range of house flags during the years.

The green in the fly of this design suggests it's an amalgamation with only
in part a Rotterdam origin, with the green for Rotterdam.
