The Koninklijke BLN-Schuttevaer was an institution representing the interests
of owners and skippers of the Dutch inland navigation. But forwarders, barge
operators and other entrepreneurs connected with trades on water, canals and
rivers could become a member as well. The institution was established in 2015
and was itself the result of an amalgamation of BLN Binnenvaart Logistiek
Nederland and the Koninklijke Schippersvereniging Schuttevaer. The homebase was
Zwijndrecht.
In April 2022 the institution itself amalgamated with another
society representing entrepreneurs in the inland navigation, the Centraal Bureau
voor de Rijn en Binnenvaart to form Koninklijke Binnenvaart Nederland (Royal
Inland Navigation Netherlands). So far, no flag of this new society has been
reported.
