Number of inhabitants: 20.342; area: 119,94 km². Settlements: Zundert
(seat), Achtmaal, Klein-Zundert, Rijsbergen, Wernhout.
The present municipality was formed on 1 Jan 1997 by the merger of
the former municipalities of Rijsbergen and Zundert.
The village of Schijf, which was part of Zundert, has become part of the
municipality of Rucphen.
Flagdescription: two equally wide horizontal stripes of white and red
with a green hoist-trangle, of which the apex reaches halfway glaglength,
on which a white fleur-de-lis, with a height of 1/2 flagheight.

Adopted 25 Jan 1962. Description: Square, a blue field with a yellow
chevron with a height of 5/6 of flagheight on the bottom of the flag.
The flag is a simplified form of the municipal arms.

Flag adopted 26 May 1962; description: red, with a hoist-triangle reaching
halfway flaglength, with in the fly-center a white fleur-de-lis.
The colors and elements have been derived from the original colors
of the municipal arms, which in its turn were derived from the family of
Aarschot-Schoonhoven and the Abbey of Tongerloo.
