The municipality of Negotino (19,212 inhabitants; 426.46 sq. km) is
located in the valley of Vardar. It is made of the town of Negotino and the
18 settlements of Brusnik, Vešje, Vojšanci, Gorni Disan, Dolni Disan, Dubrovo, Janoševo, Kalanjevo, Krivolak, Kurija, Lipa, Pepelište, Pešternica, Timjanik, Tremnik, Crveni Bregovi, Cidimirci and Šeoba.
Negotino was known in the 3rd century BC as Antigoneia,
recalling its foundation by King of Macedonia Antigonus II Gonatas. The
ancient town was destroyed, like many other towns in North Macedonia, by a
big earthquake in the 11th century.
Negotino is famous for its vineyards, the local wines being ranked
among the best in Macedonia with those from Kavadarci.
The cable factory Negotino, the only of this kind in North Macedonia, was
set up in 1968 and covers 25,000 sq. m. The thermal power plant
Negotino is located on the right bank of the river Vardar, 8
kilometers downstream of the town.

The flag of Negotino 5Macedonian Ministry of Local
Self-Government website, page no longer online), is in proportion 2:3, horizontally divided yellow-red-yellow (1:3:1), with six yellow disks placed 3+2+1 in the red stripe.
The coat of arms of Negotino is made of a yellow shield with a red border bearing the name of the municipality in white letters. The
shield includes a red sun charged with six golden disks placed 3+2+1
and surrounded by a thin yellow ring. The flag is therefore an elegant
derivation from the municipal coat of arms, recalling the local wine production.
