Achema Yacht Club

image by Ivan Sache, 6 September 2003

The burgee of Achema Yacht Club is a triangular blue flag with a thin (~1/8th of hoist) white stripe in the middle. The logo of the AYC is placed in the center of the flag (that is horizontally skewed to the hoist as usual on burgees). On the logo, the word on the light blue scroll is LIETUVA (Lithuania).
"The beginning of the Club and its activity goes back to the year 1983. At that time the nitrogen fertilizer plant Azotas purchased the first yachts and some fans established an open club. The members of the the Club were participating in different regattas and sailed to many Baltic Sea ports. The activity of the Club was interrupted at the period of economic crisis in the country, nevertheless Bronislovas Lubys, Executive Director of the above plant, managed to hold the fleet of its plant. From 1994 the activities of the Club depend on that of the plant - the privatisation of the plant was finished and JSC Achema was established at the same time. In spring of 1997 the activity of the Club was restored by the initiative of Bronislovas Lubys, President of JSC Achema. The Club was registered according to the requirements of Lithuanian Law as an independent institution, the founder and owner of which is JSC Achema. All the fleet of JSC Achema was granted to the Club. The members of the Club were reregistered.

Kaunas Yacht Club

At Vytautas the Great War Museum in Kaunas there is info on its subsidiary, the Museum of Lithuanian Sport.  In the
last picture of the page, one can see what appears to be a Kaunas Yacht Club flag, which is the Naval Ensign with an emblem in the lower fly.

Vilnius Yacht Club

Logo of the VYC (maybe used as club flag)

Possible burgee of VYC
by Ivan Sache, 6 September 2003

The burgee(?) of Vilnius Yacht Club (Vilniaus Jachtklubas) is at <vilniausjachtklubas.w3.lt>.
Jan Mertens, 4 September 2003

The logo of Vilnius Yacht Club (Vilniaus Jachtklubas) is a vertical triangle divided in three vertical stripes white-blue-white, with a yellow double cross in the middle. On the website of the VYC <vilniausjachtklubas.w3.lt>>, the corresponding image is labelled "logo". I assume that the burgee of the VYC is the logo rotated horizontally, with the cross kept in vertical position.
The yellow cross on a blue shield is part of the coat of arms and flag of Vilnius District and Vilnius County. The cross is also shown on a red field on the coat of arms and flag of the Vilnius City. The cross is also found on the national Coat of Arms of Lithuania. The blue shield with the yellow double cross is the shield of Knight Vytis (the White Knight). The whole story can be read on Coat of Arms page.
Concering the possible burgee of VYC, I have no source, no image found and it is pure personal reconstruction.
