According to pressreference.com, "the 1962 Press Law organized journalists into two syndicates: the Lebanese Press Syndicate (owners) and the Lebanese Press Writers (reporters) Syndicate."

What may be the flag of the American University of Beirut is shown in two photos, here and here. In each there is a red/white striped flag, not that of Lebanon which is right next to it, and not that of the US (too few stripes – there are 4/5 max). In the second photo, the (same?) flag has white lettering in the red stripes and a golden emblem on a white one; this second flag seems identical to the one in this photo on the site of the Lebanese armed forces (indeed it looks like the same room). The emblem isn't the AUB seal.

It is the symbol of LB Press Syndicate which can be seen in full (but very small) here.

Or much bigger here. I think that the logo on the flag there may be the same one, making it the flag of the Press Syndicate rather than of AUB. The image is incomplete; there should be white inscriptions on both of the red stripes.
