field with the words Nagasaki Prefecture in black Kanji letter beneath the
initial letter. Blue stands for sky and sea surround Nagasaki and N shaped like
a dove for world peace. Adopted 1 April 1991.

The prefecture emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 1991 by Notice No 395 and the
flag was adopted on Aug 30th 1991 by Notice No 823-2. The white flag has blue
prefecture emblem in the center and the kanji name in black at the bottom part.
The oblong form in the center of the emblem represents the earth and the
internationality. The flag proportion is 2: 3.

According to the same notice, there is a version without the kanji text. The
blue symbol is 47 of the flags width and the 50 percent of the flags length.

Nagasaki Prefecture Fishery Inspection Vessel ensign was adopted on Feb 21st
1992 by Instructions No 23. The white ensign has a blue prefecture emblem in the
center and the prefecture kanji name horizontally in black at the bottom part
which is B type prefecture flag.
