The city emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a pink, a blue and a light blue three color city
emblem in the center. Three petals of cherry flower symbolize an equal
merger of former two towns and a village and a cooperation, a development of the
city, the center blue color does Mt. Tsukuba, the light blue color does Sakura
River. The cherry, the mountain and the river are city’s symbols. It represents
an image of the refreshed citizen who is enveloped with rich natural
circumstances and flying into the bright future.
