The city emblem and flag are described by Notice No 57, 1 July 2002. The
emblem is a stylised hiragana i い forming a circle with a smooth
zig-zag through it from top to bottom. This expresses the flow of a
stream, gently through beautiful riverside areas. Though the emblem's
standard colour is black on white, the flag features the emblem in white
(DIC 583) on bright purple (DIC 225). The diameter of the emblem is 29/50
of the height of the flag.

The flag of the city of Itako is already reported, but I corrected colors
as described above.

The flag of the former town of Ushibori was blue with mark. The town is now,
from 2001, part of the city of Itako.
