There was a new symbol and flag adopted on 12 October 2016. The flag has a ratio of 7:10 and the emblem is placed in the center of a white background. The town emblem depicts town tree Ezo hill cherry in pink on green Hokkaido land. A notable feature of Kimobetsu Town's urban development is its location at the intersection of Route 230 and Route 276, Hokkaido's main arterial roads, and we envision Kimobetsu Town as a starting point to connect Hokkaido. We hope that "Ezo hill cherry" flowers will bloom and spread from Kimobetsu-town, and that Hokkaido will be connected from this Kimobetsu-town. In addition, the path that crosses from the center of the flower represents the letter "K," the first letter of the alphabet "Ki, Mo, Be, Tsu," with the hope that it will become a town emblem that will be familiar to people in and outside the town.
