Description of the flag

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was established in 1920; it evolved out of the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College (MAO College) which was set up in 1877 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan (1817-1898), one of the architects of modern India, after Oxford and Cambridge universities. AMU is composed of 12 Faculties, 7 Colleges, 10 Schools, 19 Research Centers and more than 100 Departments.
