The "Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia, APINDO" (English: Indonesian
Employers Association) is an independent, non-partisan organization of
entrepreneurs engaged in the economical sector in Indonesia. The
employers organization is headquartered in Jakarta with regional
offices across the Indonesian archipelago. The organization works to
bargain different issues faced by employers of the country, as well as
to bridge the gap between workers and employers. It was established on
January 31, 1952 as "Badan Permusyawaratan Urusan Sosial-Ekonomi
Pengusaha Indonesia, PUSPI" (English: Indonesian Socio-Economic
Entrepreneurship Consultative Board). At the APINDO II National
Conference in Surabaya, in January 31,1985 (other sources mention
since April 7, 1978) PUSPI changed its name to the Indonesian
Employers' Association (APINDO). The flag is a horizontal white background with the logo in the middle
in white and blue.
