Poljica Region

The Poljica region, situated to the south and east of Split and north of Omiš, along the coast and inland, encompasses the Mosor mountain. Since the 13th century the region had a high degree of self-government, as the Republic of Poljica until its fall with Napoléon's conquests. Unlike the better known Republic of Ragusa, located further south, which was aristocratic in character, Poljica was a peasant's republic. According to some theories, Thomas More's Utopia was partially based on the society in Poljica; although this may be a bit far-fetched, there are certain similarities between his ideas and determination of the Statutes of 1440. In western sources, the region is better known under the Italian name of Poglizza.

I found a few interesting sources for Poljica (Poglizza).

It seems there at least two flags of the principality, one under Venetian suzerainty until 1797, then one under Austrian rule 1797-1806, (presumably used without the Austrian coat of arms reverse side 1806-1807)

Facebook had some color photos of the 1797-1806 flag under Austrian rule here:

From https://prijepisi.blogspot.com/2015/10/pavich-1903b.html via google translate:
"Already in 1796, Grand Duke Frano Pavić mentioned that there are two flags in Mate Bilić in Donji Dolac, one of which is from the time of the Venetian lordship, and the other, in all likelihood, from the first Austrian rule. That the latter is likely is also proven by the fact that the flag, which is made of strong linen, is still in good condition. Saint George and the Hungarian national coat of arms are painted with paint on canvas (pictures 37 a and b)."

Later down shows "slika" (figure) 37

I did not attach the 1797-1806 Austrian coast of arms reverse side of the flag, that image remains in link above.
