The municipality of South Pelion (10,216 inhabitants in 2011; 36,940 ha) was formed in the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities of Afetes (Αφέτες, 1,838 inh.), Argalasti (Αργαλαστή, 1,985 inh.), Milies (Μηλιές, 3,100 inh.), Sipiada (Σηπιάδα, 2,358 inh.) and Trikeri (Τρίκερι, 1,696 inh.).

The seat of the municipality was in Lafkos (Λαύκος, 538 inh.).

Its flag (Kokkonis website) was white with the municipal emblem.
