The flag of Argyroupoli (Kokkonis website) was light (silver?)-blue with its seal in the middle, including the name of the municipality and the year it was founded, 1926. Following the population exchange between Greece and Turkey prescribed in 1923 by the Treaty of Lausanne, refugees from Argyroupolis in northeastern Turkey (modern, Gümüşhane, meaning "Silver House") arrived in 1926 at the place then named Ktima Geroulanou (Κτήμα Γερουλανου). They named the new settlement Nea Argyroupolis (Νέα Αργυρούπολη, New Silver City), as a remembrance to their old hometown. Hence probably the dove and the peace sign on the seal. There was some resemblance between the two towns as Argyroupoli is built on a plain with the Hymettus (Υμηττός) mountain to its north, as Gümüşhane is built on a plain with the Pontic Alps to the north; the Hymettus montain appears on the background of the seal of Argyropouli.

Elliniko was the home of the Ellinikon International Airport, now replaced by Eleftherios Venizelos. The Greek Civil Aviation Authority has its head office in Elliniko.
The flag of Elliniko (Kokkonis website) was white with the municipal emblem in the center and thin greyish-white-dark blue-white-greyish stripes on the upper and lower edge.
