Flag of Kobuleti

The flag of Kobuleti is made of seven horizontal stripes in turn blue and white and a green stripe along the hoist (1:2), the latter recalling the flag of Adjara; the escutcheon from the municipal coat of arms, "Gules a stag argent ensigned by an eight-pointed star of the same", is placed over the two fields.

The shield featured on the coat of arms and flags is inspired by the coat of arms of Guria represented in the map of Georgia designed by Vakushti Bagrationi aka Vakushti of Kartli (1696-1757). The map (image) is included in Bagrationi's Description of the Kingdom of Georgia, its habits and canons, a book published in 1745 in Moscow and inscribed in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register in 2013.
