Description of the flag

The flag of the UK National Health Service is a white rectangle with a horizontal blue oblong occupying the greater part of the center. Within the oblong are the white block letters NHS. However, on the hospital letterheads and also on some vehicles belonging to the NHS Logistics Service the letters are staggered so that they appeared to be italic capitals instead.

Italicised is the definitive form. See a version of their logo on the front page of their web site here: www.nhs.uk  It is usually to be found on the sides of vehicles including ambulances, signage and the such like, but I've never actually seen it on a flag!
