Detail of the Flag

At http://renaseveados.weblog.com.pt/arquivo/206616.html a London "Bobby" is parading; he sports a white flag with a logo on it, apparently a "police star" filled with the Gay Pride rainbow. Is it the flag of the Lesbian and Gay Police officers?

The flag bears the logo of the Gay Police Association (GPA). See these further photographs on their web site: http://www.gay.police.uk/index.html and http://www.gay.police.uk/pride.html of the Manchester Pride in 2004, where a similar flag appears to be being carried in procession, together with the banner of the GPA, further back. See also the logo of the GPA at the head of each page of the web site. This flag follows the traditional design of police flags in the United Kingdom.

The flag has a fringe is on three sides, not the hoist. Additionally, there are tassels.

Gay Police Association of Scotland

There is also a Gay Police Association in Scotland (GPAS), which has its own logo, featuring the rainbow device within a stylised thistle and surmounted by the Scottish Crown although they do not appear to have their own distinctive flag, using the aforementioned flag and banner bearing the logo of the GPA.
