Presentation of Saint-Pierre

The municipality of Saint-Pierre (532 inhabitants in 1999; 321 ha) is located 15 km south of Obernai.
In the Middle Ages, Saint-Pierre, together with Dambach, Epfig and Eichhoffen, belonged ot the Bishop of Strasbourg.

Municipal flag of Saint-Pierre

The flag of Saint-Pierre, hoisted in front of the town hall, together with the flags of Alsace, France and the European Union, is white with the municipal coat of arms in the middle.

The coat of arms of Saint-Pierre is D'azur au senestrochère d'or mouvant du flanc dextre, tenant une clef contournée d'argent en pal ("Azure a sinister arm or issuant from dexter holding a key contourned argent per pale").
The key represents St. Peter, for whom the village was named.
