The municipality of Valdescorriel (179 inhabitants in 2009) is located
in Zamora Province.
Valdescorriel was mentioned for the first time in 980 as Scurielle.
The San Salvador church, built form 1093 to 1131, has a famous tower
in Mudéjar style.

The flag and arms of Valdescorriel are prescribed by a Decree adopted
on 12 January 2001 by the Municipal Council, signed on 16
January 2001 by the Mayor, and published on 29 January 2001 in the official gazette
of Castilla y León, No. 20, p. 1,773 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 2:3, made of a blue panel with a white triangle with its vertices in upper and lower hoist and midpoint of the fly, charged with a red bell tower.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules a bell tower argent masoned sable, 2. Argent two fesses wavy azure three spikes vert in between. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
