Symbols of Velada

The flag (photo, photo) and arms of Velada are prescribed by Order No. 164, issued on 8 September 2017 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 26 September 2017 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 187, p. 23,716 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular panel, twice longer than wide, vertically divided in the middle. At hoist, white, and at fly, blue. In its geometric center is placed the coat of arms of the town.
Coat of arms: Spanish shield. Per fess, 1. Azur six bezants or in pale 3 and 3, 2. Argent a tower azure masoned and port and windows sable surmounted dexter by a sun and sinister by a moon all or fimbriated sable. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

An errata published on 27 September 2017 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 188, p. 23,827 (text), corrects the number of the Order to No. 162.

The municipality reported in 1876 to have been using since 1851 "the arms of the Marquisate of Velada, the Marquess being the feudal lord of the place". These were the arms of the Dávila lineage, "Azure six bezants or placed 2, 2 and 2".
