Symbols of Villademor de la Vega

The flag and arms of Villademor de la Vega are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 25 November 1998 by the Municipal Council, signed on 10 February 2000 by the Mayor, and published on 24 February 2000 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 38, p. 2,087 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 2:3, with a triangle with a vertex at the fly midpoint and a base along the hoist, charged with ten wavy horizontal stripes in turn white and blue, the upper triangle at fly red and the lower triangle green.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules two keys argent per saltire, 2. Vert a pillory or, grafted in base waves argent and azure. The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.

The Royal Academy of History did not accept the exact reproduction of the local pillory on the arms; a conventional design, with no intent to reproduce in details the existing monument, would be eligible. The Academy approved the flag's proposal (Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia, 2000, 197, 1: 174).
