The municipality of San Vicente de Arévalo (203 inhabitants in 2010; 1,612 ha) is located in the north of Ávila Province, 45 km of Ávila.
San Vicente de Arévalo is the birth place of the sculptor Francisco Gutiérrez Arribas (1727-1762; biography), who worked for King Charles III. His most famous works, to be seen in Madrid, are Goddess Cybele and her cart, part of the Cybele Fountain ("La Cibeles"); the Cardinal Virtues, part of the Alcalá Gate; Ferdinand VI's funerary monument in the St. Barbara church: and the four fountains of the Prado Boulevard.
