The symbol on the flag from 2006 was graphically developed into the
governorate's coat of arms: a golden Saladin eagle in a round shield, covered
with a round shield, inside a brown bridge over blue water in silver. The eagle
is surrounded by a wreath of leaves that is not closed at the top, in the gap
the name of the governorate in Arabic script.
