The flag of San Cristóbal can be seen in photographs online flying with the Dominican Republic national flag outside the city hall. One such photograph can be found here. The flag features the city coat of arms centered on a white field. The coat of arms could be blazoned "Quarterly, 1st Argent a bend sinister Azure, 2nd Gules a cross couped Argent and upon the center point the Holy Bible, 3rd in a pasture before four mountains Vert a bullock Sable armed Or, 4th Azure a sword Argent in bend sinister with an olive branch and a laurel branch Proper forming a wreath."

San Cristóbal is the capital of San Cristóbal province in the south central part of the Dominican Republic. The city was founded in the late 1500s, was the site of the signing of the first Dominican constitution in 1844, and the birthplace of Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo in 1891.
