In a silver (=shield) is a black portcullis having five teeth.
Meaning:
The portcullis is taken from the arms of Hans of Auslabingen from 1439, whose kin died out later (year not provided). As the colours of the arms were not known the colours of the city of Ulm had been chosen. The remind on the fact, that the Imperial City of Ulm had bought many properties of the local nobility and of monasteries in the 16th and 17th century and had gained the sovereignty over Asselfingen.

Banner and coat of arms were approved on 27 July 1976 by the county administration, published in GABl 315/1977 . The local council adopted the coat of arms already in 1928.
