Kochel Coat of Arms

Renaissance shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure three peaks Argent, at sinister paly of four of Or and Gules with a sinister canton Argent.
Meaning:
The three peaks (Bavarian: Köchel) are canting. They are also alluding to the landscape with snow capped mountains under a blue sky (at least in the past). The tinctures blue and white are those of Bayern. The sinister half displays the arms of the Benedictine Benediktbeuern Abbey, which was affiliated with the municipality for more than 1000 years. It had the local cognisance and was the manorial lord, until the abbey was secularised in 1803. The canton, in German heraldry also called an "Ort" is representing Ort Village, a part of the municipality.
