Shield Argent, issuant from an embattled wall Sable, masoned Argent and charged with an anchor Or, a boar Gules holding a key Or by his mouth.
Meaning:
Grettstadt was established in 1978 by a merger of Dürrfeld, Grettstadt proper, Obereuerheim and Untereuerheim. The most important local rulers had been the Bishopric of Würzburg and Ebrach Abbey. The tinctures red and white are representing the bishopric, the canting boar (German: Eber) the abbey. The key is taken from a court seal of Grettstadt and is the attribute of St. Peter, one of the local patron saints. The embattled wall is representing Euerburg Castle and Obereuerheim, built by the Barons of Bibra. The anchor is referring to the former ferry crossing the River Main in Untereuerheim.
