Shield Azure, an 8-point star Or, surrounded by eight pearls Argent and charged with a big pearl Argent in its centre.
Meaning:
The arms are based on the oldest city seal, which had a circumscription "SIGILLVM BVRGENSIVM IN PERLEBERCH" and already displayed the current pattern. The oldest coloured depiction iin Johann Christoph Bekmann: "Historische Beschreibung der Chur und Mark Brandenburg" (vol. 2) from 1753 displayed a red 8-point star on a silver shield. It is assumed that the central pearl is symbolising Perleberg as capital of the Prignitz and the smaller pearls the eight other cities of the region. The arms are thus canting.
