Shield Gules a sword Argent and a crozier Argent in saltire.
Meaning:
The Patrimony of Dahlen had been a fiefdom of the Bishopric of Merseburg. The oldest city seal, existence proven since the 15th century, already displayed the current pattern, which actually had been the arms of the patrimony. Sword and key usually are the attributes of St. Paul and St. Peter, but I couldn´t find any relationship between the city and the saints.
