Neuhaus Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Gules, a demi-lion rampant issuant Or, armed and tongued Gules; beneath Azure, an embattled tower Argent with port Sable and portcullis Or on top of a triplemount issuant Vert.
Meaning:
Veldenstein Castle and the market town belonged to the Bishopric of Bamberg until 1802. The first seal from the 16th century and a coloured image in the Armorial of the Bamberg Vassals (1603) displayed the differentiated lion of the bishopric without bendlet above and the tower beneath. The current pattern was first painted by Otto Hupp, based on a coloured image from 1811.

The arms were confirmed by Philipp Valentin Voit of Reineck, who had been Bishop of Bamberg between 1653 and 1672. The colours of the banner are a repetition of the tinctures of the arms.
