Simmershofen Coat of Arms

Shield quartered of Argent and Sable, two lions passant guardant armed and tongued Gules in counterchanged tinctures ordered per pale.
Meaning:
The lions, in this posture also called leopards, are taken from the arms of the Counts of Hohenlohe, who lived in the area since the 14th century. Hohlach, located in the municipality, had been their ancestral seat. The quartered shield displays the arms of the Burgraves of Nürnberg and their successors, the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, local rulers for centuries. The flag colours are those of Brandenburg-Ansbach (black and white) and of Hohenlohe (red and white).
