Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. The sinister side shows in a golden (= yellow) field a half black bull's head crowned golden (= yellow), armed silver ( = white) and tongued red, accompanied by a blue 6-point star upon the dexter chief point. The sinister side shows in a blue field a golden (= yellow) upright key.
Meaning:
The meaning of the star is unknown. The bull's head is symbolizing the Werle branch of the princes of Mecklenburg. The key is symbolizing the Benedicitines, which had a domain in the city in the middle ages.
