Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Or a fess wavy Azure; beneath Gules a 6-spokes wheel Argent.
Meaning:
The lower half displays the wheel of the Archbishopric of Mainz, to which the area belonged until 1802. The wheel already appeared together with a cauldron, an attribute of St. Vitus, the local patron saint, on the local seal from 1720. The fess wavy is symbolising the Kriftel creek, name giver of the municipality. The blue and golden colours are those of Nassau, to which the village belonged from 1803-1866.
The arms were approved on 2 August 1951.
