Güglingen Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a hood Argent.
Meaning:
Güglingen gained city rights from the Lords of Neipergg around 1295. The first seal probably is from the same time, but prints exist only since 1359. Also all the following seals from the 15th century up to 1800 displayed the same pattern, a "Gugel" (pronounced. google), a hood with its name derived from Latin "cucullus". A sculpture of the arms was seen on the local market well since 1731. And it was known as a local symbol at least since 1684, when it appeared in a forestry journal. The colours white and red had been nearly always the same. However shortly before 1933 they had been blue and white and thus the flag had also been white-blue.
