It is a blue - yellow vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue shield St.George, nimbed golden (=yellow), riding an uprising horse with red bridles , dressed in clad armour and holding a lance in both hands, all in silver (=white), is killing a green dragon in the base.
Meaning:
According to source the image of the local patron saint appeared on seals of the city already at the end of the 14th century.

The banner and the coat of arms were approved by Regierungspräsident Arnsberg on 10 July 1970. Already on 15 August 1911 a similar coat of arms with a mural crown, and probably in a French shield, was granted by the Prussian king.
