Description of flag:
It is a green over yellow horizontal bicolour. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag.

Vaterstetten is one of the rare municipalities in Southern Bavaria using a horizontal flag. The rather light colours are derived from the original flag design drawing (in water colours) and defined as RAL 6018 and RAL 1018.

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per bend sinister wavy into silver (= white) over blue. Above is a green leaf of linden tree. The field below is divided by a golden (= yellow) pale.
Meaning:
The name of the municipality had been Parsdorf until 1978. The leaf is taken from the arms of the Benedictine Abbey of Tegernsee. The pale is representing the former municipality of Neufarn and is representing the old roads crossing the village.

The flag was approved on 3 April 1985 by district government of Oberbayern. The coat of arms was approved on 13 March 1969 (for Parsberg) by Bavarian ministry of interior.
