Pfaffenhofen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Gules a bend Argent charged with an arrow Sable, beneath Argent a pair of shearer's scissors Sable in bend.
Meaning:
Pfaffenhofen incorporated Unterumbach Municipality on 1 January 1975. Unterumbach belonged to Friedberg County in the Schwaben district (Regierungsbezirk) until 1972. It used the current arms of Pfaffenhofen since 1954. The upper half displays the arms of the Ligsalz family from Mü nchen, local ruler of the Oberumbach district from 1606 until 1742 with minor interruptions. The scissors are taken from the arms of the Eisenhofer family, who also owned estates in Oberumbach. The family died out in the 16th century.

The bicolour had never been approved officially. Triband and arms were approved on 3 July 1978 by district governor (Regierungspräsident) of Oberbayern.
